Frequently asked questions
What exactly does NORSTRAT do?
The goal of NORSTRAT is to support those who have a duty or a business objective to develop the necessary infrastructure for the North and to create components of Canada’s Northern Strategy. We achieve this by imparting our vast knowledge on the subject and putting all of our energy into ensuring the success of our clients.
What kind of infrastructure are you talking about?
Major infrastructure projects and initiatives that are funded by the Canadian federal government are the focus of NORSTRAT. Satellites, transportation infrastructure, defence systems, telecommunications, and investments in social infrastructure, such as housing, are just a few examples.
How can NORSTRAT help me?
In essence, by directing the client through the Government’s Northern Strategy and showing them where the opportunities are, by assisting the client in identifying and gaining access to the key relevant stakeholders, by sharing domain knowledge on the one-of-a-kind challenges and opportunities associated with developing infrastructure in Canada’s North, and by providing proven expertise in submitting bids, winning them, and/or managing Northern infrastructure development projects. Having said that, assistance is determined by the person receiving it; consequently, NORSTRAT will always provide a support package that is tailored to the particular requirements of each customer. We are excited to discuss your requirements and determine the best way to fulfil them.
Where are you located?
The purpose of NORSTRAT locating its headquarters in Ottawa is to be co-located with the numerous departments and agencies of the federal government that are responsible for and have jurisdiction over the north. This is why NORSTRAT’s headquarters are located in Ottawa. We are also in close proximity to the headquarters of Inuit Tapirit Kanatami (ITK), which is the National Representative Organization that fights for the rights and interests of the Inuit people in Canada. Our location allows us to take advantage of both of these advantages. In addition to this, Ottawa is served by frequent air connections to the regions to the north, making it a reasonably well-served city. Our office in Ottawa caters to customers not only from across Canada but also from the United States of America and Europe.
